These past days Israel and Hamas returned to the cycle of blind violence that affects innocent citizens on both sides. The International Forum for Peace strongly condemns these recent events. While the people of Gaza live under fear and threat of Israeli retaliation and as Hamas missiles have found their targets in the south of Israel, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, the fear is growing for citizens on both sides.

The International Forum for Peace calls for the Israeli government and Hamas to immediately cease fire. The killing only fuels  hatred and enmity between these peoples, and perpetuates the conflict. We call on Israel to act responsibly by maintaining restraint and initiating new efforts to reach the Palestinian leadership, seeking reconciliation. Hamas must halt their continued provocations on Israel by ceasing its ongoing missile attacks.  A first and brave step towards peace can be achieved by Israel as the first country to recognise a Palestine as a non member state on the 29th of November at the UN, concurrent to Arab and Muslim countries recognising Israel. The one and only path to peace will never come through violence but through open and secure dialogue between the 2 countries. Only then  we will see  sustainable  peace and tranquility in the region.
